7am; Gotong Royong at Bestari Damansara, Section 19, Petaling Jaya
Abdul Samad, Chairman of the Persatuan Penduduk-Penduduk, his committee, and surau representative Zulkipli were amongst about 200 volunteers who came to clean the surroundings. MBPJ and Alam Flora personnel were on hand to provide equipment and invaluable help.

8am; Visit to the SS2 market with MBPJ
SS2 Cares (comprising RAs and RTs of SS2, SS2 Open Market Hawkers Association and MBPJ); recycling advocates Tetrapak Malaysia Sdn Bhd; local councillor Terence Tan; community leaders (Lim Theng Kau, Mdm Lee Kwee Cheng, Ngiam, HK Tan, Tan Beng Tek and Gan Keng); DUST and I teamed up to meet and greet shoppers at the SS2 wet market.
Besides bringing Chinese New Year greetings, we promoted the Pakatan Rakyat Government’s sustainable environment message by distributing 'green' eco bags, each containing two mandarin oranges, to the shoppers. All 1500 bags, purchased using funds from the ADUN’s allocation, were gone in a jiffy.
7pm; RT Kg Cempaka hosts Chinese New Year dinner
The Rukun Tetangga Chairman of Kg Cempaka, Lee, and his committee held a karaoke competition cum dinner for the senior citizens usher in the Chinese New Year. Held at their covered basketball court, this event not only entertained the elderly residents but also provided a platform for singers to strut their stuff!

Guests included YB Edward Lee, YB Tony Pua and MBPJ councillor Tang. I gave a contribution of RM2000 to the event. Jaya Palace Restaurant also showed their generosity at this event.

gotong royong............should go towards the end of ss2/72 near to tropicana city mall and see for your self the one and only field next to the road exactly in front of the shop which is not kept well at all and rubbish strewn everywhere by some irresponsible people.Go look foryour self..and it is not far from Bestari flat.Even the rubish truck that ply that area couldn't carelessand be bothered to pick the rubbish up.
